Dancing 4 A Cure is a 501(c)3 organization founded by Scean Ellis aka DJ Sceanie in September 2012.  We are dedicated to increasing the awareness of cancer prevention, promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle and raising funds to support other non-profit organizations in their cancer research.

In January 2012, Scean was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer.  After her diagnosis, she realized that many of her friends did not participate in regular cancer screenings or self-examinations, which is key to early detection.  She also learned that maintaining a regular exercise regime, embracing healthier eating habits and becoming more aware of the toxins in everyday foods was a priority in lowering one’s risk of the cancer returning.

D4AC’s parties showcase some of the city’s finest female DJs spinning hot music for philanthropic party-goers.  Our events are designed to be informative, while inspiring attendees to take an active role in cancer prevention and finding a cure.   All net proceeds are donated to a pre-designated non-profit organization that supports cancer research such as Stand Up 2 Cancer, American Cancer Society, Celebrate Life Ministries, etc.

Celebrating three years of being cancer free, Scean continues to share her experience and knowledge with others.  Determined to make an impactful contribution in the fight against cancer, she is passionate about her God-given role to inform, inspire, and get others involved in the fight.
